Delhi: Delhi police have arrested four persons including a woman for trying to blackmail a businessman based on a video clip with him in a compromising situation. According to the police, the accused were trying to extort money by making a sex video of the victim Shiv Aggrawal.
The incident was reported on July 1 when Shiv complained to the Crime Branch about the case.
"A complaint had been received from Shiv Aggarwal about the alleged extortion. In the investigation we found that the extortionists were trying to trap the victim by making a sex video. The accused girl had first befriended the victim. She met him several times at various restaurants," said a police officer.
"Later she called the victim to a hotel in Prashant Vihar area. With the help of her associates she made a video of the victim while having sex with him. After this she gifted a mobile phone to him with a copy of the video clip saved in it. The culprits then demanded Rs 30 lakh from the victim. All the four accused were actively involved in this case," added the police officer.
Shiv Aggrawal was shocked when he found the video clip. The extortionists demanded money from him promising to delete the original video.
"The accused Rahul Goel is the mastermind in the case. He knew the victim Shiv who has a factory of plastic granules in Mangolpuri area of Delhi and has a handsome income. Rahul decided to trap the victim and approached his friend Sonam. Ashish is Rahul's cousin and he too agreed to be a part of the conspiracy. Rahul's friend Vinod Arora also joined the group," said a police officer.
"Vinod has a mobile shop and he provided SIM cards on fake IDs for the conspiracy. Then all of them planned to ensnare Shiv and the girl started luring him," the officer added.
The police set a trap to catch the accused and told the victim to call them and give them the first installment.
As per the plan, two of the accused Rahul and Ashish were arrested on August 7 from Rithala Metro station with Rs 50,000. And on the instance of Rahul, the other 2 accused were arrested. The police have recovered a hidden camera fixed inside a key chain, a laptop, mobile phones, SIM cards, the video recording and other fake documents relating to SIM card purchase from the accused.
