Delhi: Facebook friend a cellphone thief?
Delhi: The perils of social networking are many, some less obvious than others. Ghaziabad resident Rishi, who is also an Amity University student, met Purnima on Facebook four months ago.

They became good friends and started having telephonic conversations. Finally they decided to meet at a coffee shop in the posh Noida Sector 18 market on Tuesday afternoon.

According to Rishi, Purnima asked for his mobile phone after they had ordered coffee, saying she wanted to speak to her father. While speaking on the phone she started walking away from there. Rishi smelt foul play and began following her.

Believing that Purnima was trying to escape with his cellphone, Rishi started shouting and people gathered. But things became interesting when the couple started trading charges. The matter was reported to the police and both Rishi and Purnima landed up at the local police station.

Purnima had a different story to narrate. In her written complaint she mentioned that she had in fact purchased this mobile and given it to Rishi who was supposed to pay her but didn't.

While Rishi rubbished the allegations and claimed that the mobile was given to him by his parents and he has a receipt of its purchase.

Police said they will initiate action after investigating the matter further.
