New Delhi:
Panic broke out at Hotel K C Plaza in Paharganj area when a 20-year-old Kashmiri youth was found dead in his room. Police said the deceased, Mohammed Rafiq Mir, may have died of natural causes.
"Rafiq came to Delhi on Sunday and since then he had been staying at Hotel K C plaza. On Monday Rafiq had to inform the hotel authorities about his check out. But when he did not get back to anyone, the hotel manager decided to check his room and found him dead. Hotel authorities then informed the police about the incident," said a senior police officer.
The officer added that Rafiq was undergoing treatment at Holy Family and Safdarjung Hospitals.
Police said they have recovered some medical documents that confirm he was ill and was undergoing treatment.
"We have informed his family members. Post-mortem has been conducted. We will hand over Rafiq's body to his family members as soon as they arrive in Delhi," said the officer.
