New Delhi:
A 19-year-old girl in Delhi claims she was sexually assaulted by a 50-year-old businessman in a moving car on Wednesday after she was abducted from near Moti Nagar area in west Delhi.
Mukesh, a resident of Ashok Vihar area of northwest Delhi has been arrested. Police said he would also be booked for kidnapping as he took the victim to an isolated place forcefully. The accused reportedly runs a papermaking factory in Ashok Vihar area.
"The girl resides in Tilak Nagar area along with her family. She is a first year Commerce student at a renowned DU college. On Wednesday morning she left her home for college when she was allegedly kidnapped by the accused. The accused raped her in an isolated place threatening her of dire consequences. He then dumped her in front of her college," said a senior police officer.
The victim approached the police to report the incident. She was taken to Deen Dyal Upadhyay Hospital for medical examination. Tests confirmed that she had been raped. Police said that they were investigating the case.
