New Delhi:
Denied to play among men in the DSA 'A' Division League, local girl Disha Malhotra is heading offshores in her bid to play professional football and she is going for trial in United States.
Malhotra has been invited for trials by USA's third division side Mississippi College Women Soccer Club.
"I will put my best efforts to create the space in first team. This is my short term goal," said an elated Malhotra, a student of Sanskriti School at Chanakyapuri, before leaving for United States.
The 18-year-old striker, who stands at five feet four inches, received professional training at the Insequace Celcio Academy in Italy. She is presently playing in NCAA Division III All-West Region.
Malhotra was not allowed to play in a Delhi 'A' division league last month after United Young Boys included her name in the starting eleven.
