Dhubri, Assam: Five persons, including two women, were killed today when the taxi in which they were traveling collided with a truck on National Highway 31 in Dhubri district, police said.
The taxi, in which the five were traveling towards Dhubri town, collided with a truck coming from the opposite side at Baladmari killing them on the spot, police confirmed.
One of the deceased was a home guard in connection with Gauripur police station. The taxi driver escaped unhurt.
The driver of the truck is absconding, but the vehicle has been seized, said the police.
