Bangalore:
The police have rubbished reports of Infosys manager Satish Gupta attempting to commit suicide saying that he was under constant observation. At the same time, they are not ruling out the possibility of his parents' involvement in the murder.
Satish confessed to killing his wife Priyanka over a domestic row last week.
(Read: She ill-treated my parents, Infosys manager tells cops)BNS Reddy, DCP (south-east), said, "This is just a rumour. We are questioning him thoroughly, and he has given us enough evidence to produce him before the court. We need two more days to complete the process."
Police officials say the main reasons for Priyanka's murder could be her differences with her in-laws. Apparently, Satish's parents were not happy with the love-cum-arranged marriage.
Besides, Satish felt inferior to her, since Priyanka was a post-graduate, while he had just completed his graduation.
They both loved each other, but whenever she argued with his parents, Satish never took her side.
This led to some differences between the two, but things got better when the couple shifted to a new house.
But soon, differences cropped in, when she started teaching. Priyanka was popular, and was admired by teachers and students alike. This, coupled with insistent arguments with the now-visiting, in-laws drove Satish to commit the terrible crime.
The police are also questioning close friends and colleagues, but denied the possibility of an affair.
A senior police official said, "Even after the differences, Priyanka never suspected that Satish was planning to kill her."
