Bundi, Rajasthan:
The district authority in Bundi, Rajasthan has ordered an inquiry into the alleged molestation and harassment of a contractual lady doctor by the district Chief Medical & Health Officer (CMHO), official sources said on Sunday.
The district collector has ordered an inquiry into the case following a complaint by Anupama Pandey, a contractual lady doctor, who had alleged that district CMHO Hemraj Niyarta molested and harassed her at the work place on March 30.
When inquired about the complaint by Pandey, District Collector Arti Dogera admitted to have received the complaint and said she has set an inquiry under Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Zilaparishad to look into the matter. "Unless the inquiry is completed, I cannot tell anything more about the complaint," Dogera said.
Pandey, posted as district AYUSH Coordinator, has written a letter to Dogera complaining against Hemraj Niyarta and said that she would no longer be able to work at office as long as he is there.
Allegations of rape and harassment were also levelled against the same medical officer four months ago in December by a widow who had approached him to apply for a job.
The widow, under social and family pressure, did not lodge FIR against Niyarta but following the protest by some Congress workers and stories about it in Hindi dailies here, Chief Minister ordered Joint Director(Kota) to probe into the matter.
When asked about the inquiry, Joint Director S M Mittal said he is yet to complete the inquiry and probably will send conclusive report after a week.
