Doctors on strike allege they were beaten, molested
Delhi: Resident doctors at Lady Hardinge Medical College (LHMC) are up in arms. The doctors have launched a strike against a group of Class IV employees of the hospital who allegedly beat their colleagues and molested their female co-workers during a cultural fest on Monday night.

The striking doctors are demanding a letter of apology and the suspension of the guilty.

"We have asked for the suspension of accused Raj Kumar along with a letter of apology from him," said Dr Kishore, LHMC.

The incident allegedly occurred during a three- day cultural festival 'Cob- Web' organised at the college premises. Raj Kumar, a class IV employee at the medical college and hospital, and his friends tore the shirts of the two doctors and also molested two of the lady doctors.

Dr GK Sharma, director of the college, has assured the doctors that the guilty would be punished.

"We are waiting for the authorities to act. The director had promised us the suspension of Raj Kumar," said a senior doctor.

Though the doctors are demanding registration of an FIR, the police have refused to do so as nobody got hurt in the incident.
