Kolkata:
Double trouble for Spice Jet Kolkata-New Delhi flight, SG 219. First, the pilot noticed a fire in engine while taxing for take-off around 6:40 pm. The plane returned to the airport and after engineers fixed the problem the flight took off at around 8:20 pm.
However, just 15 minutes into the flight, the plane had to make an emergency landing after the pilot reported a fall in cabin pressure.
All the passengers are safe and the aircraft has been grounded.
A different aircraft was deployed to take the passengers to their destinations; passengers are also being accommodated in other flights.
The incident happens barely two weeks after many passengers were injured in an emergency evacuation from a passenger plane at Mumbai airport.
