DPS student found murdered in Etah, UP

Gurgaon: A Class XI student from Delhi Public School, Bhondsi, was kidnapped and murdered by his friends at Etah, Uttar Pradesh, when his family members failed to pay a ransom amount of Rs 50 lakh.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Anil Dhawan said on Wednesday that 16-year-old Azharuddin's friends Manoj and Aftab lured him out of his house at Bhondsi in Gurgaon for an evening walk on December 21. Later Anish, Aniyansh and Ravi joined the two friends and all five kidnapped Azhruddin and took him to Etah.

The kidnappers demanded Rs 50 lakh from Azharuddin's family. When the family expressed its inability to cough up such a huge ransom, the kidnappers killed Azharuddin and burnt his body at Etah.

Prem and Papu, both residents of Etah, helped the abductors-killers in Uttar Pradesh. Manoj and Aftab were Azharuddin's neighbours in Bhondsi.

Police arrested the five by tracking Azharuddin's mobile phone, which they were using. Prem and Papu are still absconding.
