Mumbai:
Twenty-eight-year old Sachin Jagtap in Mumbai and his younger brother were downing a few pegs when they were beaten up by unidentified miscreants wielding iron rods on Monday night.
However, the motive behind the attack is not known. While Sachin suffered a fracture in his left leg, his brother escaped with a few bruises.
"We were drinking at Azad Nagar when we got beaten up by men carrying iron rods. I do not know the motive behind the attack," said Jagtap, who was admitted to Cooper Hospital by a neighbour Vijay Patil.
The siblings, who live close to Azad Nagar, ruled out robbery as the motive. "I felt a few blows on my left leg and began to scream. But since I was drunk, I did not realise how serious it was," said Jagtap.
Vijay Patil, a neighbour who rushed Jagtap to the hospital maintained that the two brothers did not have a tiff with anyone from the locality.
The Jagtaps have not filed a complaint with the police yet. "We did not file any police case, since the brothers needed treatment immediately," Patil said.
