Mumbai:
Early on Wednesday morning on Mumbai's Marine Drive, yet another life was lost due to drunk-driving.
Twenty six-year-old builder Sushil Kothari rammed into a scooter killing its rider Zulfikar Qureshi, a 49-year-old scrap dealer.
"Two people travelling on a Honda Activa. They were mowed down by a Skoda which sped away from the spot. One person died and one was injured," said Paraji Repade, Inspector, Marine Drive Police Station.
It did not stop there. Kothari drove away and minutes later rammed into few cars.
"He sped away. Our friends followed him. When he came out of the car, we figured he was drunk," said Azim, eyewitness.
The Marine Drive Police have arrested Kothari and they say that medical tests show he was drunk while driving.
On January 30 this year, 27-year-old Nooriya Haveliwala was arrested for killing two people including a police constable while driving drunk. She was later released on bail. (
