New Delhi: Women in the city will be able to travel in Delhi Transport Corporation buses for free on Sunday on the occasion of Bhai Duj, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit announced on Saturday.
The decision has been taken to ensure that women could reach to the places of their brothers without any hassle, she said.
Transport Minister Arvinder Singh said women would be allowed free ride in all DTC ordinary buses and non-air conditioned low-floor buses till 5:00 PM on Sunday.
The DTC has been offering free ride to women on Rakshabandhan and Bhai Duj for the last few years.
Dikshit has also conveyed her greetings to the people on the occasion of Bhai Duj.
