Tamluk, West Bengal:
Eight persons were killed and around 30 people injured when a bus collided with a truck at Heria in East Midnapore district in West Bengal on Thursday, police said.
The bus was going to the tourist town of Digha from Kolkata when it collided with the truck coming from the opposite direction at Heria about 70 kilometres from Kolkata. After the collision the bus turned on its side and the passengers were trapped under it, they said.
Local people, police and administration helped the trapped passengers come out from the bus.
The injured have been admitted to Tamluk and Kanthi hospital and the seriously injured have been referred to Kolkata, they added.
