Nagpur:
Eight persons, including two women, were killed on the spot and three others seriously injured when their car collided with a container truck at Paonar in Wardha district early today.
The injured have been rushed to Kasturba medical college, Sevagram, where they are stated to be critical, police said.
The mishap occurred when the speeding vehicle heading towards Gondia from Yavatmal collided with the container truck coming from Nagpur. Police said, six of the passengers were on their way to take an examination. The driver of the vehicle also died in the mishap.
The postmortem of the bodies was done, said police, adding that a case has been lodged against the absconding truck driver.
