Indore : HDFC Bank in Indore on Thursday handed over to the local police fake currency worth over Rs 3.60 lakh deposited in the bank's various ATMs in the district, police said.
Bundles of fake currency were brought to the Chotigwal-toli Thana by HDFC Chest Manager, Thana incharge Ramnarayan Sharma said.
The notes were in the denomination of Rs 500 and Rs 100 amounting to over Rs 3.60 lakh which were collected in HDFC's branches through ATMs in the last four months, he said adding a case under section 489 of IPC was lodged, and probe started, he said.
