Family drugged its six young children before they drowned together
Dehradun: Six children from a family in Dehradun  were drugged with sleeping pills by their grand-parents before they drowned in a local canal.   Their grand-mother and two other relatives jumped into the same canal.  Only the grand-mother survived.

Kailasho Devi is now in hospital.  She has allegedly told the police that her family was worried about repaying a loan.  The adults formed a suicide pact as a result of which her two daughters and six grand-children died.  A male relative, Manoj, hung himself.

The police say they will file a case of murder against Kailasho Devi.
