New Delhi:
A teenage girl allegedly committed suicide in south-east Delhi apparently depressed over her family's opposition to her relationship with a boy, police said on Monday.
The incident was reported from Tuglaqabad village on Sunday night and the victim has been identified as Keerti (18). It came to light when officials of Majidia hospital informed police that a girl who had consumed poison was brought there.
Keerti had died before she reached hospital. According to police, she was in a relationship with a boy but her family was opposed to it.
"She wanted to marry him but her family was against it. She was under depression. This is suspected to be the reason behind the girl taking the extreme step," a senior police official said.
