In an apparent case of dishonour killing, a 20-year-old girl was killed allegedly by her father in Sitarganj area of Udham Singh Nagar district of Uttaranchal, police said on Saturday.
Priti was allegedly involved in a relationship with a boy of Kailashpuri village, police said adding that Rambahal, father of the girl, was opposed to this and had left the girl to his sister's home a month back.
Two days back Rambahal went to his sister's house and asked Priti to accompany him to their home, they said.
On their way back home, Rambahal had some argument with his daughter and in a fit of anger he allegedly strangulated Priti to death and threw her body in a jungle yesterday, police said.
Priti's body was recovered and father has been arrested, police said.
