Mumbai:
Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan's official bungalow is having a faulty water meter which has made it difficult to record the water consumption; this was revealed in response to an RTI application.
Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) has now stepped in and decided to replace or repair the faulty meter, a top civic official said.
"We will issue a letter to CM Ashok Chavan's official residence 'Varsha' in south Mumbai, to either replace or repair the water meter," Additional Municipal Commissioner Anil Diggikar said.
The RTI query filed by Chetan Kothari, the MCGM, on Friday announced its decision on the faulty water meter at CM's official residence.
Kothari, in its letter dated December 12, 2009 to RTI, asked for detail account of water supplied to Chief Minister Ashok Chavan's Varsha Bungalow, Governor's house, Municipal Commissioner and other minister's bungalow.
