Allapuzha:
A 50-year old man was allegedly hacked to death and his daughter seriously injured by a youth at Chenganour area in the district today, police said.
Ashok, an employee of the Profident Fund office at Kottayam, was about to drop his 22-year-old daughter Varsha at her college in his motorbike when the incident occurred, police said.
The accused Raghul, who was in his early 20s, came in a motorbike and attacked both the father and daughter, they said. While Ashok died on the way to hospital, Varsha, an MBA student, was undergoing treatment and was in a serious condition, police said.
Ashok had questioned Raghul's overtures towards his daughter and it could be the reason behind the attack, police added.
The accused was caught by members of the public and handed over to the police, they said.
