The fire is believed to have started due to a short circuit.
The park usually has a large number of security personnel and other staff at all times.
Recently, the Supreme Court gave a go ahead to the project on the condition that any permanent structure would not exceed 25% of the total area.
The condition was imposed as the park is near the Okhla bird sanctuary.
