Mumbai: Three people were charred to death and two others sustained burn injuries after a fire broke out at a garment factory in Mumbai on Thursday.
Three workers, who were asleep in the factory, were burnt alive and two others suffered burn injury. The injured have been admitted to civic-run Cooper hospital, fire brigade sources said.
The fire broke out in a garment factory at Anjatine chawl in Santacruz at around 0345 hrs due to a short circuit, sources added. Nine fire engines were rushed to the spot to control the fire.
Hospital sources said the condition of the injured was stable.
