Kolkata: A plastic-making factory was damaged in a fire on Wednesday morning at Salkia in Howrah district.
The police said 25 fire engines fought for close to two hours to bring the flames under control.
Huge plumes of smoke that stretched far into the sky could be visible from afar.
The extent of damage was yet to be ascertained, firemen on the spot said.
