Kolkata:
A fire broke out at a three-storied house, the ground floor of which was occupied by a plywood
factory, near Kolkata station in north Kolkata, early on Tuesday.
The blaze first started in the plywood factory and then spread to other floors on the East Canal Road, according to fire brigade sources.
There was no report of any casualty.
Nearly 13 fire tenders took five hours to douse the fire, the sources said.
The fire brigade sources said prima facie it appeared a short circuit was the cause of the fire.
Today's fire is the third instance of its kind in slum areas in the city in three weeks.
