Panaji: A fisherman who was thrown in sea following a brawl on a fishing trawler was rescued on Thursday by the lifeguards at Miramar beach.
Panaji police said that Joghunu Mhaji from Orissa was thrown in sea by a crew member, who is yet to be identified, of a fishing trawler following a drunken brawl.
Drishti Lifeguard Services personnel rushed to the help of the fisherman, who was rescued from the sea this morning a few minutes after the incident.
Sources said that Mhaji was rescued just in nick of time as a huge barge carrying Iron ore passed through the spot where he fell in sea.
