Five killed as van catches fire in Madurai

Madurai: Five persons were killed today when a van caught fire and rammed into a tree at Seethur, about 75 km from Madurai, police said.

The five, all painters, were on their way to Rameswaram from Shengottai for some work when the mishap occurred, police said.

The exact reason for the van catching fire is being ascertained, they said.
