Nashik: Five members of a family, including a woman and a child, were killed on the spot and four others injured when their ambulance, taking unconscious child to hospital, collided with a stationary truck on Ahmednagar-Pathardi Road in Ahmednagar district on Tuesday night, police said on Wednesday.
The family's three-year-old son Raheman Ayub Shaikh was ill and they were taking him to a private hospital when the ambulance collided with a standing truck at Bhatodi-Phata.
The deceased are: Anees Shaikh (driver-30), Mohammed Ramzan Shaikh (45), Ibrahim Masum Shaikh (30), Naseema Mohammed Shaikh (40), the patient 3-year-old boy Ayub Shaikh, police added.
Injured in the mishap were admitted to government hospital.
