Sant Kabir Nagar:
Five people were on Monday killed and three others injured when a jeep rammed into a tree in Barivara area, police said in Uttar Pradesh on Monday.
The incident occurred on Monday morning when the driver of a jeep carrying a marriage party lost control and rammed into a tree killing five people, including him, on the spot, they said.
Those killed have been identified as driver Sadanand Yadav (25), Pankaj Rai (35), Digvijay Rai (45), Isram Maurya (38) and Parmatma Pathak (42), police said.
The injured have been referred to Gorakhpur medical college where their condition was stated to be serious.
