Five-year-old boy found dead in a park in Delhi

New Delhi: A five-year-old boy was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a park in New Delhi on Sunday, police said.

Sujal, son of a plumber, went missing since Saturday night from outside his house in Khanpur's DDA colony while he was playing, a senior police official said.

The family searched for him from 11 pm and approached police but in the morning police received a call about the body of a boy lying in a park located one kilometer from Sujal's house.

"A morning walker saw the body and informed police. It was identified that of Sujal and the body has been sent for postmortem, which will be conducted on Monday," the official said.

There were injury marks on his neck, he said.

The victim's family said they did not receive any ransom call nor they have any enmity with anyone.

"It does not appear to be a case of kidnapping for ransom. There could be a possibility that some animal could have attacked him. But we cannot tell the exact reason for the death till the post mortem report comes," the official said.
