Greater Noida: Delhi NCR is gearing up for using their cars on alternate days as the government's odd-even plan begins from January 1. But the residents of a colony in Greater Noida are preparing a little more than others. For starters, they are looking to create a car-pooling app for their locality.

Anupam, a resident of the Silver City 2 in Greater Noida says, "Car-pooling is being done for 2 years within our society, but now it has to be better as most of us travel to Delhi for work."

The residents are also working on creating a database of odd and even numbered cars and their owners within the society along with their daily commute to car-pool more effectively.

But some residents also feel that car-pooling is not a solution for them. Saurabh, who does not have fixed working hours re is required to travel a lot says, I have work which expects me to travel at any hour so car-pooling wouldn't always be feasible. I think I'll have to rely on cabs and public transport in those situations."

On most days of car-pooling in this society, all seats are taken. This is something what other societies could try to achieve. The public transport in Delhi will be strained when the AAP government takes the odd-even car plan for a spin.
