Vadodara:
Four persons, including a member of a key body of the Maharaja Sayajirao University (MSU), were arrested on Friday in connection with an admission scam in the Faculty of Technology and Engineering of the varsity, police said.
Kamlesh Mehta, a Gujarat Government nominee on the Senate, a key decision-making body of the university, is among those arrested. The others were identified as Hemant Zala, Viral Panchal and Mitesh Patel, all alleged touts, they said.
Fourteen cases of bogus admissions of students in the faculty have come to the surface. Each one of these student is believed to have paid Rs 7 lakh for admission, they said.
