Hyderabad:
Four persons have been arrested from Uttar Pradesh for allegedly abducting and killing a nine-year-old boy after collecting Rs 10 lakh ransom, police said.
Shaik Ibadur Rahman, a native of Kashiram Nagar district, and his three aides from Etah district in Uttar Pradesh have been arrested for allegedly killing Deep Patel after kidnapping him from Moosapet area here, Sanathnagar Inspector of Police A Balakoti said.
Rahman, who was earlier a business partner with Deep's father, Ranchod Patel, committed the crime after he suffered financial losses in the business he had set up independently, Balakoti said.
"Ibadur Rahman, along with other accused, kidnapped Deep on April 21 when he was playing near his house and took him to a rented room. They demanded Rs 10 lakh ransom for the boy's release. However, they strangulated Deep on the intervening night of April 23-24 and buried the body," he said.
After collecting the ransom on May 5, the four fled to their native villages the next day. Police have arrested them and brought to Sanathnagar here on Sunday, the officer said, adding Rs 7.5 lakh was recovered from them.
Deep's body was exhumed and handed over to the relatives after an autopsy.
