New Delhi:
Four associates of notorious carjacker Manoj Bakkarwala were arrested in the capital with police on Sunday claiming that they have solved at least dozen robberies of luxury cars.
Jagjeet Singh (30), Dharambir Yadav (22), Pravesh (22) and Ashok Kumar (19) were apprehended from near DDA Salvage Park in west Delhi's Mayapuri on April eight, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Sharad Aggarwal said.
Two factory-made English pistols and two knives were recovered from them.
They were arrested after police had received information that Jagjeet and Dharambir, who were in jail with Manoj Bakkarwala, have been released recently from jail and they have formed a new gang.
During interrogation, Aggarwal claimed, Jagjeet is a driver by profession and came in contact with Bakkarwal through one Raju whom he met in a party. Bakkarwala told him that he is into sending stolen luxury cars to North Eastern states.
"They told him that they will give him Rs 10,000 and he started working with them. Later, he started committing car thefts alone from the areas of West Delhi," Aggarwal said.
