Begusarai:
Four children were burnt to death and an elderly man was seriously injured when fire broke out at Shivri village in Bihar's Begusarai district today, officials said.
Circle Officer of Cheriya Bariyarpur said the fire broke out in a thatched house during cooking and it spread rapidly to other houses.
The four kids died on the spot.
The victims were identified as Shivam (4), Sachin (3), Varsha Kumar (5) and Sahwag (one).
Ramchandra Tanti, who was seriously injured in the fire, was admitted to Begusarai Sadar hospital.
Property worth lakhs of rupees were also destroyed in the blaze.
