Balasore, Odisha: Four picnickers were killed and eight injured when a jeep in which they were travelling collided with a truck in Odisha's Balasore district, police said on Wednesday.
The jeep was on way back to Digha area of East Midnapore district from Mayurbhanj when the mishap took place on NH 60 near Barunagadia under Basta police station late Tuesday night, they said.
While two people died on the spot, two others succumbed to injuries early on Wednesday at Balasore district headquarters hospital where all the injured have been admitted, police said.
The driver and helper of the truck fled.
