Four drowned, five missing as boat capsizes in Karnataka

Gulbarga, Karnataka: Four persons of a family met with a watery grave and five others are feared drowned when a boat in which they were on a joy ride capsized in a tank near Gulbarga in Karnataka on Friday, police said.

The family had gone to the tank at Kaja Kotanur, 15 kilometers away from Gulbarga, on a picnic when the mishap occurred.

Bodies of four persons had been recovered and a search is under way for five others, Superintendent of Police Praveen Madhukar Pawar said.

One person swam to safety and another was rescued, he said.
