Jodhpur: Four French tourists are in critical condition after a tour bus they were on was hit by a truck and overturned in Jodhpur today.
Police say about 30 other French tourists received more minor injuries in the accident.
The French Embassy in New Delhi says the ambassador was traveling to Jodhpur where the injured are being treated in a hospital.
The tourists had been leaving a resort when the accident occurred. Police say the truck slammed into the bus on a highway that goes around the city.
India has the world's deadliest roads, with more than 110,000 people killed annually. Most crashes are blamed on reckless driving, poorly maintained roads and aging vehicles.
