Dharamshala:
A 46-year-old German national has alleged rape by two Tibetan youths, police said on Sunday.
On Saturday the victim, living in Mcleodganj area near here for the past 10 months, gave a statement to the police. A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered.
A case has been registered against the accused and the victim's medical examination has been conducted, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Dharamshala, Sanjeev Gandhi said.
The woman, who had come to India from Duisburg on a tourist visa in March last year, lodged a complaint with local police in this regard yesterday after she was discharged from R P Medical College at Tanda where she was recovering from a drug overdose, they said.
Sanjeev Gandhi said that the German woman was kept in illegal confinement in Dharmashala between December 27-28 by two persons.
The woman managed to escape on December 29 but was found in an unconscious state by the police on January 7.
The police are trying to ascertain her whereabouts between December 29 and January 7.
In her complaint, the woman said she was staying with a local resident Naresh for the past 6 months and alleged that a Tibetan youth came to her house on December 27 and made an excuse to take her to an isolated place.
Then he along with his friend sexually assaulted her, she has alleged.
Gandhi said two youths -- 24-year-old Swang and Cherring (23) -- have been arrested from Mcleodganj after being identified by the victim.
