German woman allegedly raped in Dharmashala

Dharmashala: Police in Himachal Pradesh's Dharmashala - Headquarters of Tibetan government in exile - found a German woman in unconscious state on Saturday, the woman claimed she was illegally confined for two days and allegedly raped by two unknown persons.

On Saturday the victim, whose name is still not known, gave a statement to the police in the hospital that she was raped by two persons. A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Dharmashala said  that the German woman, about 46 year-old, was kept in illegal confinement in Dharmashala between December 27-28 by two persons.

The woman, who was allegedly raped by these two men, managed to escape on December 29 but was found in an unconscious state by the police on January 7.

The police are trying to ascertain her whereabouts between December 29 and January 7.
