Ghaziabad: In a ghastly incident, an eight-year-old girl died in Ghaziabad, after she was allegedly beaten with hot iron rods.
Police have arrested the girl's sister and her husband and a case of murder and rape has been registered.
The police says that neighbours have reported that the girl's uncle attacked her after Rs 2000 was stolen from his house.
The girl died while she was being taken to the hospital.
"They have been beating her for the past 3-4 days but yesterday when she started crying loudly the villagers reported to the police. Police rescued her immediately," said M M Beg, the Superintendent of Police (SP), Ghaziabad.
"The girl told us that she has been badly been beaten with chains, sticks. We have registered a case under 307, 326 and 376 and 511 of IPC. Now this will be converted to 302 as the girl is dead," he added.
