Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh:
A 21-year-old engineering student allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan at her rented accommodation in Ghaziabad, police said on Thursday.
Pushpa Rani, who hailed from Gorakhpur district, was a first year student at a local engineering college and staying in Kavinagar. She allegedly hanged herself to death on Wednesday evening, police said.
As no suicide note was recovered from the spot, police were trying to ascertain the cause behind the extreme step.
According to her room partner, Pusha was in normal frame of mind when she left for her tuition classes, police said.
Pushpa's parents have been informed and the body has been sent for postmortem, police added.
