Ghaziabad:
A woman has been arrested in Ghaziabad for alleged trafficking of young girls, even as two girls were rescued, police said on Saturday.
Acting on a tip-off from the Assam Police, Parul, a resident of Shastri Nagar, in Ghaziabad was arrested and two girls were rescued, Senior Superintendent of Police (Ghaziabad) Raghubir Lal said.
During interrogation, the woman confessed that she had sold off the two girls in Ghaziabad and Bulandshahar, he said.
The rescued girls were identified as Abida (22) and Mazida Khatoon (16). They have been sent to Nari Niketan in Meerut and would be sent back to their parents in a day or two, Lal added.
