Ghaziabad: A woman, who was allegedly sold off by her husband and his relatives a fortnight back, has
been recovered from the national capital, police said today.
The woman, identified as Khursheeda, 22, was allegedly sold by her husband Pawan and two of his relatives for Rs 1.25 lakh to a person named Gajender in Delhi about a fortnight back, Superintendent Of Police A K Vijeta said.
Her mother had lodged a complaint with police last week after suspecting foul play when Pawan refused to give any information about the whereabouts of Khursheeda.
Vijeta said police managed to recover Khursheeda from Gajender after he was nabbed from the national capital on May 9, following which he confessed to have bought her from her
husband Pawan and two other relatives.
The woman has been handed over to her mother and a search of the accused is underway, police said.
