Mumbai: A 28-year-old committed suicide by hanging herself at the Goregaon police station in Mumbai on Friday.
Sapna Salvi was brought to Mumbai in a credit card fraud case and was under transit remand. She was produced at the Dindoshi court on Thursday.
The Mumbai police demanded the extension of her remand, which was further extended till April 5.
Salvi committed suicide when she was taken for lunch to a separate room, escorted by a lady constable.
According to Amar Jadhav, DCP crime, "The lady constable had come out of the room for some work when Salvi hanged herself with her dupatta. We are investigating the matter and it is too early to say what made her commit suicide."
