Beed (Maharashtra): Police have arrested a man for killing his daughter by setting her ablaze in Pangari village in Shirur tehsil of the district on Sunday.
The man set the 14-year-old girl on fire over a minor issue.
Local police said that the girl, identified as Ashwini Adinath Dahiphale, was staying with her mother and maternal grandmother in the village, after her parents separated some months back.
On Sunday, the girl's father and his brother came and asked the girl to leave her mother's place and go with them to village Ashti.
However, when she refused to go, the duo poured kerosene on her and set her on fire. The girl, who sustained 95 per cent burn injuries, died yesterday, police said.
Another accused has also been arrested, they added.
