Rampur: Cash and gold and silver jewellery amounting to Rs 35 lakh were stolen from an ancient temple in a village in Himachal Pradesh's Kinnuar district, police said on Tuesday.
The robbery took place on Monday in Narayan temple in Hurba village in Rupi Panchayat, they said.
The thieves broke open locks of the temple doors and decamped with cash and gold and silver ornaments amounting to Rs 35 lakh.
The robbery came to light on Tuesday morning when villagers came to offers prayers in the temple.
A case had been registered and investigations were on, they said.
