Gurgaon:
A 33-year-old doctor was on Sunday sent to 14 days of judicial custody on charges of raping his younger sister for over eight years, police said.
The doctor was arrested on Saturday for allegedly raping his younger sister since the time she was a class 12 student.
The woman is now 27.
In a complaint filed at a police station in Manesar on Saturday, she said that she remained traumatised all these years but preferred to suffer in silence as she feared the social stigma which would come with the reportage of the incident.
The doctor, the only son of his parents, has four more sisters and is married.
He was booked for rape, assault and criminal intimidation.
The woman, who has refused to undergo a medical test, said she had shifted to her sister's house in 2005 after she was first sexually abused by her brother.
She said her ordeal continued every time she visited her mother who stays with the accused in Gurgaon.
