Gurgaon: Sometimes leisure work can prove to be fatal. For Raj Kumar, Badshahpur Block Youth Congress vice-president, it turned out to be the same.
Around 9.30 pm on June 7, Kumar came out of the Starex beauty parlour after getting a hair cut at Gurunanak Market near Sector 4 in Gurgaon, two unidentified assailants allegedly fired at the leader and immediately fled from the spot.
The leader was rushed to the Medicity Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. Raj Kumar was shot in the chest.
The Youth Congress leader was traveling in his white Ford Endeavor car, which also had the party's sticker on it and VIP number plate (HR 26 Q 0005).
According to the police, someone close to Kumar is possibly behind the attack and the reason could be personal enmity. "It is too early to say who is behind the attack, but this is for sure that someone was following Kumar.
Minute information like Kumar coming to the parlour must be with some close associate of him. So the role of his relatives or friend being involved in the incident cannot be ignored," said a senior police official. The police have taken details from the eyewitnesses and the employees of the parlour.
